The problem of factionalism looms over human communities. It’s warned of by everyone from St. Paul in his letters to the people of Corinth to the Founding Fathers of the United States. In our own day, we see people of all stripes hunkering down into bubbles of like-minded people and like-minded media.
The question then, is this? At what point is just the natural desire of human beings to be in community with like-minded people and to have sources that they trust? At what point has it degenerated into factionalism? And given the fallen state of human nature, how do we protect ourselves from the latter?
In this one-hour discussion, Dan Flaherty and John Tuturice explore all of these questions.
