(VIDEO): Corned Beef Briefs--Trump Reaches Threshold Moments At Home & Abroad

As we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday we explore Trump's intense exchange with Zelenskyy at the pope's funeral and the showdown with the judiciary.

It’s the week the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of Divine Mercy, and this week comes with praying for the repose of the soul of the late Pope Francis and for the future of Holy Mother Church.

The funeral for the pope was on Saturday and one of the iconic images that appeared out of it came separate from the Mass itself. It was an image of President Trump and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy having an intense one-on-one conversation.

What were Trump and Zelenskyy talking about? We can only speculate, but the purpose of this video is to examine Trump’s recent statements on the Russia-Ukraine War, made just this past week, put them in context for how U.S. diplomacy has evolved to a more realistic posture, and assess what happens now that we seem to be at some sort of a tipping point.

We’re also reaching a tipping point here at home in the confrontation between Trump and the judicial branch. We take apart media myths regarding the deportations, explore some more reasoned criticism and assess the enormous challenges faced by the reformers at the Justice Department, including new FBI director Kash Patel.

RFK ON THE MOVE

It’s not a subject we discuss in the video, but Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is making things happen at Health & Human Services. He’s dealing with food dye, and there are credible reports that at some point in the fall we’ll here something significant regarding the COVID-19 “vaccine”, and the root causes of autism.

AND A FINAL REMINDER

As we settle into what will be some long drawn-out battles on a range of fronts, it’s important to remember two things:

*Inflation is back under control
*The border is secure again

I voted for this.

I wrote a novel back in 2003 that was set in a fictional Irish Catholic neighborhood in postwar Boston. It’s still online at Amazon, in both print and electronic formats. The novel celebrates Catholic teaching, old-school populist politics (in an era when the Democratic Party was home to my kind of voter), the Boston Red Sox and Notre Dame football. In the worlds of faith, sports, and politics, it captures what I believe.

I’ve also set up a “tip jar” over at the website Buy Me a Coffee. If you find an article or video particularly informative or enjoyable, you can leave an electronic tip.

Finally, while I’ve gotten active in politics because events of the last five years have shown that we have to protect ourselves, my first interest remains sports. I’ve got a nostalgia website, OUAT Sports, which is regularly updated with historical articles and includes a blog on current games. If you or someone you love is a sports fan, bookmark the site, and sign up for the free Substack associated with it
